Glances Metrics¶
The Glances microservice publishes CPU metrics as SenML records on the
events.data subject. Each metric name is namespaced with the plugin id,
giving glances_stats:cpu:<field>. See the Py ToloMEO
SenML Format reference for the
record structure.
| Metric (published name) | Unit | Description |
|---|---|---|
glances_stats:cpu:total |
% | Total CPU utilization |
glances_stats:cpu:user |
% | Time in user space |
glances_stats:cpu:nice |
% | Time on niced user processes |
glances_stats:cpu:system |
% | Time in kernel space |
glances_stats:cpu:idle |
% | Idle time |
glances_stats:cpu:iowait |
% | Time waiting on I/O |
glances_stats:cpu:irq |
% | Time servicing hardware interrupts |
glances_stats:cpu:softirq |
% | Time servicing soft interrupts |
glances_stats:cpu:steal |
% | Time stolen by the hypervisor |
glances_stats:cpu:guest |
% | Time running a guest VM |
glances_stats:cpu:guest_nice |
% | Time running a niced guest VM |
glances_stats:cpu:time_since_update |
s | Seconds since the previous sample |
glances_stats:cpu:cpucore |
# | Number of CPU cores |
glances_stats:cpu:ctx_switches |
# | Context switches since last sample |
glances_stats:cpu:interrupts |
# | Interrupts since last sample |

Note
Fields with a None value in a given Glances response are omitted from
that reading. Every reading, regardless of which fields are present,
carries a timestamp.
